| Site launch, and a new build on 02-01-2009 |
|
Coinciding with the launch of site, build 205 has also been released. This build addresses a large number of issues as well as adding a few new features.
Release highlights: • Reworked AI speech broadcasts for clients. Clients can hear speech regardless of how far the host is from them, and idle sounds are now audible.
• Most projectiles can now be picked up. Rope/vine arrows that have been fired into wood or metal grates by a player still cannot be picked up, but any that were preexisting on the mission before it started can be.
• Pressing tab will now show the names and pings of all of the players in the game.
• The inventory problems related to shared starting equipment encountered in previous builds have been fixed.
• Added more descriptive death messages for players.
Other improvements: - Doors will automatically open after being unlocked by clients, and lock/unlock sounds now play properly. - Readables now display only to the player who uses them. - Fixed a rare bug that caused a departing player’s inventory objects to reappear in the world at their starting locations. - Clients can now see numbers being entered into odometers, and a bug that was making it difficult for clients to enter the vault code into one on Framed has been worked around. - Clients can now trigger events linked to marker objects (such as conversations). - Knockouts made by clients will now count towards the total number of knockouts for the mission. - It is no longer necessary to play some maps with the “no loadout screen” option checked in order to start the mission with lockpicks. (for instance, Framed) - AIs will no longer change voices when control of them is transferred to a different player. - Thrown items such as flash bombs and mines now work properly (they will no longer appear to have infinite uses for some players). - Unlit flares and scouting orbs can now be picked up. Players can now see each other throwing scouting orbs. - Fixed a bug introduced by build 195 that could cause the host's inventory to disappear when clients pick up loot. - Permanent head tilt after respawning should be fixed. - Minor improvements to framerate and bandwidth usage. - Errors when hosting or joining games are handled more gracefully. Detailed information will be displayed in the console if you are unable to host or join a game. - Fixed corruption in long quick save names. - Thief 2 will now ignore the no_network config variable in cam.cfg. There’s no longer any need to remove it after installing the patch. - The default text color used for chat and some other on-screen messages can now be edited in ThiefMP.ini using the TextColor setting. Standard HTML color codes will work.
